About Junction Road

Formed in late 2024, Junction Road stands to renew the authenticity and originality of pop music with rock, alternative, jazz, soul and classical elements and influences. Junction Road was formed by Max Fletcher and Declan Bartlett, two childhood best friends who grew up in suburban Sydney, Australia.

Their current releases “Expression” (Fletcher) and “God Only Knows” (Fletcher) are focused on a more melancholy pop/alternative genre.

Upcoming release “Rules Are Meant to Be Broken” (Bartlett/Fletcher) marks the first release with Declan Bartlett’s songwriting influence, subverting the current scope of genre.

Declan Bartlett (Saxophone, Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Piano) is the more prominent songwriter of the two, having experience in areas such as improvisational jazz, composition of symphonies and advanced systemic instrumental training (saxophone, clarinet) combined with a distinctly broad palette of music stemming from his upbringing.

Max Fletcher (Vocals, Ukulele, Piano, Drums) is the face of the band. A skilled and confident vocalist, Fletcher’s prominent role in the songwriting process is a melodic and rhythmic one. His first passion, drums, gave him a profound rhythmic base, on which he has, in more recent years, built his vocal proficiency.
