Junction Road’s third single, ‘Rules Are Made To Be Broken’, was first written by Declan as a backing in late 2024, with the intention of creating a more upbeat, rebellious-natured track, allowing the duo to delve into the realm of alternative pop/rock, a style which suited them very well. The backing was later shown to Max, whose idea of using the saying ‘rules are made to be broken’ led to the pair collaborating to form a catchy vocal melody and a memorable set of lyrics.
